The owner of the landmark Pink Roadhouse at Oodnadatta, Adam Plate, was named as the driver killed in the Supaloc Targa Adelaide Rally at Chandlers Hill yesterday.
A newcomer to his Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VII and the race class, he died after the car clipped a tree and rolled down an embankment.
Co-driver Patrick Chan was taken to the Flinders Medical Centre with non-life threatening injuries.
